Sam & Nicole's Seattle Wedding Weekend: Thur & Fri / dinner / reception / cruise / baseball game / Sunday / official
Sunset Lakes Cruise
Saturday, July 28th, 2001
After the reception, Dan, Sarah, Jamie, Josh and I returned to Ballard. While resting we had a few Doritos and watched the first 30 minutes of War Games (conveniently set in Seattle).
We reached the marina early and before boarding, we went in search of film for Jamie's camera.
That search led us to a convenience store where a few purchases were made.
We consumed pre-boat drinks in a park overlooking Lake Union.
Dan finishes his Zima and assumes the position of the Space Tower (if you squint you can see it in the background of the photo on the right).
WARNING: These five people have been drinking all afternoon and have not eaten in hours. One of them will step off the cruise, walk 200 feet and ask where he is.
On board...
Karen and Ben
Ardra, Keri and Sam
The JMU gang catches up with $am (as the younger WXJM folks still call him).
Spree is good candy.
Sam's mother tells stories about Sam as a young child.
Pablo
General amusement and drunken merriment lead Josh to breakdancing - just 1/3 of a spin away from completing his first windmill in 16 years.
Everyone takes a few moments to toast Brian, the best man, on his birthday.
The idea of convincing Dan to jump overboard is hatched.
No one jumped off the boat, but Dan (in the Brooklyn Dodgers cap) got a little frisky with his tongue.
Once the boat docks, the brownies are put away, Barry dons a silly hat and the crowd disperses. Many head to the bar next door for drinks and cheap food.
