oliver (the guy playing bass in the blue striped t-shirt) and i grew up in the same neighborhood. i hadn't seen him in probably ten years.

when i spoke with my mom early saturday afternoon, she mentioned that she'd spoken with oliver's mom and that his band was playing in brooklyn. the show at luxx that night fit into my schedule and i had a great time! after smiling non-stop and wishing they'd played two or three more songs, i dashed out of the building before i could say good-bye. i had to skip to the other side of williamsburg to see the spectators.

somehow, i imagine it won't be a problem convincing myself to see skywave the next time they play new york.
