and it's time to get summer started. kris and julie invite friends to their apartment (and backyard!) for some saturday afternoon grilling (following a kickball game, if i remember correctly).
sujan and julie carefully balance their chairs...and keep an eye on the dog.
after an intense game of kickball that included a few close plays at the plate, jamie and patrick enjoy refreshing beers.
dan and mary enjoy the comfort of the shade and look on as chris fires up the grill.

after enjoying the fine grilled foods, a few people depart for the brooklyn ice cream factory to meet kaci at the end of her work day.
jamie skips the ice cream (having eaten 12 hamburgers and 18 hot dogs earlier in the day). dan can't resist the ice cream and takes his experience in the sundae direction.
dan and sujan listen as kaci tells a story about a really cute kid who came into the ice cream shop and asked for dippin' dots, the ice cream of the future!
patrick digs into a strawberry cone as kaci finishes up her story, which probably wasn't about dippin' dots.
after finishing a vanilla ice cream cone, marc poses for his standard self-portrait. he didn't expect that these photos wouldn't be posted until september.
