a double birthday celebration for chris and sarah

@ ocean palace
as the group assembles at the table in the back, the staff at ocean palace rolls the carts through, offering all sorts of dumplings, spring rolls, and seafood options.
chris, john, dan, sujan, anne, jamie and mary start with appetizers (and laugh about the frustration of the N train not running).
as more food accumulates at the tables, sarah, christian and scott huddle over a dish, trying to decide what to have next.
john loads his plate, but makes sure to pace himself.
the eating and socializing continue: jamie has a piece of everything and chris looks through photos from karaoke at dan's birthday.
after a little provocation, the group at bart's table convinces him to tell stories about his recent escapades.
chris larry flips through a book about hbo's OZ, as jamie fills chris in on the crazy betting at friday night's poker game.
social butterflies, christian and sarah visit with friends who had their journey slowed by the complexities of the weekend subway system.
matt enjoys chicken on a skewer and talks up the roast beef joint down the street. (he stops by there later and reports that it's just so-so.) jim enjoys an onion-free meal.

the party moves to the gate in park slope where (amongst many conversations) the jukebox is played and sarah and chris blow out candles, wedged into lemon wedges, on top of shots.
